The Furey lab concentrates on the following:
1) Determination and analysis of structure-function relationships in macromolecules of biological interest, including thiamin diphosphate dependent enzymes, immunoglobulins, bacterial toxins, digestive enzymes and other proteins. X-Ray Crystallography is the primary method employed.2) Development of techniques for the determination and analysis of macromolecular crystal structures.3) Application /development of computing techniques and algorithms for understanding biological function on a molecular level.
