a. The modulation of myeloid cells is essential for immune evasion in many diseases, such as cancer and COVID-19; 
b. Siglec-15 is an emerging myeloid cell-associated target for cancer immunotherapy; 
c. ACE2-independent SARS-CoV-2-myeloid cell interactions exacerbate inflammatory responses and contribute to COVID-19 immunopathogenesis.
