"Journey into the unknown: Decoding and targeting the PKD kinases in cancer"

Jane Wang, Ph.D.

Associate Professor
Department of Pharmacology & Chemical Biology
University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine

PKD kinases are intracellular receptors of the key second messenger diacylglycerol (DAG). They exhibit many unique regulatory and biology properties relevant to cancer development. In this presentation, I will describe our research focusing on understanding the roles and signaling mechanisms of PKD in cancer, and our efforts in developing targeted small molecule inhibitors for PKD as potential therapies for cancer and other diseases.
