“Epigenetic control of vascular smooth muscle lineage and function”

Dr. Gomez studies the role of epigenetic and transcriptional mechanisms controlling fundamental properties of vascular smooth muscle cells. Using multi-scale omics and epigenome editing approaches, her laboratory investigates the causal relationship between the establishment of lineage-specific chromatin or non-coding RNA signatures and the maintenance of vascular cell identity and functions.
