“The challenges of targeting peptide G protein-coupled receptors with peptide mimetics and small molecules”

Ross Bathgate, PhD
Professor
Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health
The University of Melbourne

While the past 10 years have seen great advances in ligand-GPCR structures peptide GPCRs remain poorly understood. Hence the study of complex peptide receptors requires different approaches to allow structure-based drug design of agonists. This presentation will focus on the receptors for relaxin family peptides and the unique challenges of targeting these receptors with peptide mimetics and small molecules.
